Frequently Asked Questions

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 15:00. Check-out is by 11:00. We ask you to respect these times, so our cleaner has enough time to get everything ready for you or the next guests.

What should I bring?

The short answer: not much. Your stay includes made-up beds, bath towels and kitchen linen, all utilities (water, electricity, internet), tourist tax and cleaning fees. We also stock the basics so you don't have to think about it — coffee, tea, olive oil, pepper and salt, bin bags, hand soap, toilet paper, shampoo, shower gel and dishwasher tablets. Firewood, firelighters and kindling for one full heat of the hot tub are included too. What you do need to bring is personal: clothing for all weather, swimwear for the hot tub (not mandatory), and anything else that makes a trip feel like yours.

Is the cabin suitable for children?

The cabin is well-suited for babies and toddlers up to 2 years old, who can join as an extra guest free of charge. Please note that we don't have any child-specific facilities such as a cot, highchair or baby bath — so you'd need to bring those yourself.

Are pets allowed?

Unfortunately we do not allow pets at Villa Friluftsliv.

How does the wood-fired hot tub work?

The hot tub is heated with firewood and takes approximately 6-8 hours to reach temperature. We provide enough firewood to heat the hot tub once. Additional firewood for reheating the hot tub or enjoying a campfire can be purchased at the petrol station just five minutes away. We'll explain the process in detail before your arrival it's simple and part of the Friluftsliv experience.

Is there WiFi?

Yes. Villa Friluftsliv is equipped with Starlink satellite internet — fast, reliable, and available throughout the cabin and outdoor area.

Can I work remotely from the cabin?

Absolutely. Starlink provides the kind of connection you need for video calls, cloud work, and remote meetings.

Is the cabin accessible by public transport?

The easiest way to arrive is by car. That said, it is possible to reach Tärnsjö by train and local bus from Uppsala — we're happy to help plan this if needed.

Can I contact you directly with questions?

Of course. Reach us via the contact form on this site and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
